EGO is a Consortium of funding agencies whose main responsibility is the commissioning of Advanced Virgo in 2015, and goal, the detection of gravitational waves through the network Virgo-LIGO. It is also responsible to promote gravitational-wave (GW) research in Europe and training of young scientists and engineers towards this goal. The IndIGO Consortium has been involved in coordinating and consolidating research in various aspects of Gravitational Waves in India over the last three years. EGO is interested in establishing cooperation with other active GW communities in the world to develop R&D and exchange of students and post-docs. The present meeting has been organised to explore possible avenues of bilateral scientific collaboration between EGO and IndIGO and launch a wider cooperation to work subsequently towards a suitable MOU between the two Consortia in the future.
